Ishmelga

Along with his monster possession, there is another entity that is living inside of Rean. It goes by the name Ishmelga-- the Ebon Divine Knight, but is also referred to as a "curse". It is an entity that has gained intelligence as it's power has grown and was created entirely by malice.
As the True Sacrifice of the Great Twilight, Ishmelga targeted Rean and as a result, when Rean loses control of himself, the curse takes over his body; causing him to go mad. It is possible to draw him back, however, calming him is not an easy task and in his enraged state he is destructive and impossible to reason with. In this state there are two ways to draw him back.
Defeat him or at the very least manage to knock him unconscious.
Or soothe the malice. This can be done with music, magic or by appealing to his greater emotions.
